The team for the second Almere Challenge Event were unveiled today, with the eight participating teams representing six countries. The two hosts of the tournament, Almere City FC and Cerezo Osaka, are joined by last year’s tournament winner FC Utrecht.
A third Dutch team is also familiar to the tournament, as AZ Alkmaar again strikes down in Van Der Valk hotels for the two-day festivities. As is the case with Aberdeen FC, who again joins the party from Scotland. New to the Challenge Event playing field is Helsingborgs IF from the south of Sweden.
Not only the north, but also the south is represented in Almere. The seventh participant is Parma Calcio 1913 from Italy. The eight club is Standard Luik from Belgium.
The eight contestants will meet each other in Yanmar Stadion at the second-annual Almere Challenge Event. On August 17 and 18 the tournament grounds will again see international players in their prime. The tournament can be visited for free. This edition there see several skill games, that can earn young football players an official go at the official Almere City Football Academy.
