Prior to the play-off game between Almere City FC and SC Cambuur stadion speaker Tim de Vries completed the draw for the second Almere Challenge Event on August 17 and 18 2019. The eight participating teams were divided in two poules: Yanmar poule and Loogman Carwash poule.
The three Dutch teams were separated so they could not end up in the same poule. The following are the results from the draw:
Loogman Carwash Poule:
Cerezo Osaka (Japan)
Almere City FC
Standaard Luik (Belgium)
Parma Calcio 1913 (Italy)

Teams play each other in the poule once. The two best teams from each poule meet each other in the semifinals. The two winners meet each other in the finals on Sunday.
